• Marin Builders Association Scholarship Program Awards $20,000 to 12 Extraordinary Students

    2025 Marin Builders Scholarship Reception

    The 2025 annual awards were presented on Wednesday, June 18th at the Scholarship Awards, Past Presidents & Honorary Members Reception, hosted at The Club Restaurant, McInnis Park Golf Center in San Rafael.

    Scholarships were determined after an initial screening of applicants and interviews by an independent selection committee. The committee included Jesse Madsen, Director, Marin County Office of Education; Cynthia Murray, Former President and CEO of the North Bay Leadership Council; and Rob Devincenzi, President and Publisher, Marin Independent Journal.

    The scholarship winners are:

    • Christopher Benavidez Diaz - San Rafael High School
    • Erick Rivaldo Calderon Maldonado - Marin Oaks High School 
    • Tyler Chelew - St. Vincent De High School 
    • Sonia Greco - Redwood High School 
    • Patrick Knopf - Terra Linda High School 
    • Kiera Lensing - Redwood High School
    • Emanuel Medina - Redwood High School 
    • Grace O’Hara - San Marin High School 
    • Maty Thiane - Tamalpais High School 
    • Benjamin Tyler - San Marin High School
    • Carina Valeschini - Chico State University
    • Ryan Wu  - San Marin High School

    Congratulations to all the winners! It is an honor and a pleasure to contribute to the success of these inspiring students.

    Since 1978 the association has awarded nearly $1 million in scholarships to local students who are pursuing a higher education at a college, university or trade school.
