    In collaboration with the Board of Directors, Rick is responsible for the strategic leadership of the Marin Builders Association. He manages all business planning, program development, and financial operations. Rick specializes in building organizational structure, creating sustainable initiatives, policy and advocacy. Rick has served as President and CEO of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce and President of the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce. He serves on several Boards in Marin County.     Michelle Whiteside

    Michelle was born in San Francisco, moved to Novato and attended Novato High School. She is active with Helping Hands of Our Lady of Loretto Church in Novato, Marin Catholic High School and the Board of Directors of the Marin Builders Association. She and her husband Dave reside in Novato with their three children. She was founder and designer of Grazie Restaurant in Novato, and has enjoyed working as a mortgage broker and realtor for many years. Five years ago she was appointed Director of Operations at Whiteside Concrete Construction Corporation. Michelle has enjoyed working in construction with her husband who started the company over 25 years ago. The Marin Builders Association is an important part of their foundation in the community. Michelle is a strong believer in networking and always exemplifies a cooperative spirit.
    Brad Hubbell
    Hubbell Daily Architecture + Design
    From an early age, Brad had his sights on becoming an Architect. After school Brad returned to California to begin his career with the firm of Michael Rex Architects where he learned the value of detailing, design and materials.
    In his 25+ years of architectural design, Brad has worked on projects from San Francisco Victorians to contemporary modern homes and is drawn to projects that demand creative solutions to meeting clients’ style. He enjoys a collaborative approach to projects, working closely with other trades and the clients to achieve creative and unique solutions to every project.
    Brad Hubbell and his wife and designer, Suzanne Daily, incorporated Hubbell Daily Architecture + Design in 2003.  They have enjoyed taking on residential projects ranging in size from moderate and whole-house remodels to new homes. HDA has a growing body of projects throughout the Bay Area.
    Nicole Tai
    Nicole is CEO of GreenLynx, a C21 and General B contractor, and reclaimed building materials company. She began reclaiming materials off commercial TI jobs in San Francisco while working for her grandfather and mother. Since then, she has overseen over 100 construction, deconstruction and salvage projects around the Bay Area and New York.
    Nicole also worked for non-profits focused on the environmental and Native American youth. Nicole is Vice Chair of the Reuse Alliance, founded the Bay Area Deconstruction Workgroup, and she organized the new “Building Women” Committee of Marin Builders Association.
    Nicole graduated from UC Berkeley with a BS in Conservation Resources and Native American Studies, and UC Davis with an MS in Community Development. Nicole is married and lives in Novato with her two children.
    Dan Ross

    Dan is the owner/president of Ross Painting where he is responsible for the administration and marketing of the company. He began painting in 1972 and founded Ross Painting in 1986. He has been a member of MBA since the late 1980s and a former co-president of North Bay NARI. Dan has also been a member of Painting & Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) since 1986 and is currently on the national board of directors.

    As a great supporter of the schools, Dan has donated painting services to several over the years. His favorite charity is the Marin Food Bank.

    Dan graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese History. He married Dina Spadini in 1982. He has two beautiful daughters and one gorgeous granddaughter.
    Mary Birch

    Business Development Manager
    Mary joined the Board in 2017. Mary has worked at Contractors State License Schools for 23 years in all capacities helping students further their construction careers. Her many professional accomplishments include Presidents Club Member at CSLS for the past 20 years, Certified RRP, Mentor of the Year Award, and Student Counselor of the Year. Mary volunteers for Contractors Caring for Kids and American Cancer Society Race for the Cure. Mary attended Diablo Valley College where she studied business.

    Mary's first love is her family. She has been married to her best friend, Ken for 31 years. They are parents to two wonderful adult children- son Adam and daughter Ashley who just had a daughter, Amelia Rose. She is their first grandbaby and the apple of their eye!
    Abel Cabrera
    Maldonado Construction
    Chief Operating Officer
    Abel Cabrera Is one of the founders and the Chief Operating Officer for Maldonado Construction located in Novato. His company specializes in home remodels and sales, Working in real estate and owning a brokerage throughout the real estate "tech boom", inspired Abel to incorporate modern technology into the construction industry.

    In his spare time, Abel likes hiking and spending time with his family. He is also working on the development of a construction based app and hopes to be able to help the next generations of contractors.
    Danny Della-Santina
    Golden State Lumber, Inc.
    Vice President of Operations
    Danny is Vice President of Operations at Golden State Lumber in San Rafael.  He grew up working in the restaurant industry in Marin both catering, and at his family’s restaurant.  After graduating from Saint Mary’s College he began his career at Golden State Lumber in 2002.  Over time he has learned the business through many different roles within the organization.  Danny currently resides in Petaluma with his wife and two children.

    Oliver has over 30 years in the building trades in roles from Apprentice to Project Executive. With early experience in his family's contracting business, he has been associated with a number of high profile projects throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Oliver has been a licensed general contractor since 1980, member of the Marin Builders Association since 1986 and is a past President of the Board of Directors (2003).
    Clayton Fraser

    Clayton has served on the Board since 2013.  Clayton has built his 22-year career with Thompson Builders Corp. and is currently Vice President of Business Development. His construction experience encompasses new construction, modernizations and seismic improvements of schools, public buildings, housing developments, and other large-scale general building and engineering projects.  Clayton oversees Project Managers on large scale projects to ensure the project progresses according to schedule and budget and is responsible for all aspects of bidding and pre-construction for alternative delivery type projects.
    Zohar (Zack) Ilinetsky
    Green Bay Remodeling, Inc.
    Zack Ilinetsky, Partner and General Manager at Green Bay Remodeling Inc., has over 10 years of experience in the construction industry. A result-oriented and driven leader, Zack has been part of every task imaginable in the building process. He uses his years of hands-on experience to manage his residential projects' many details, which have ranged in size from 1,000 to 14,000 square feet, serving over a 120-mile radius in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has always prioritized recruiting the highest quality employees and encourages continuous improvement through training and learning about new developments in the industry, resulting in knowledgeable Project Managers, successful builds, and 100% satisfied clients.
    Sean Kelly
    Lamperti Contracting & Design
    Sean Kelly is the owner of Lamperti Contracting and Design.  Lamperti has been in Marin since 1965. Sean was first involved with Lamperti as a sub contractor and then took over ownership in 2005.  Lamperti is very well known as a high end Kitchen and Bath remodeling company and Sean works very hard to maintain that reputation.  He has been in the construction business in Marin since starting his first company, Elite Builders in 1990.  He is actively involved in every aspect of the business. Sean Kelly is excited to be a part of the board so that he can provide needed services to other builders in this community.
    Daniel McLennon

    Daniel F. McLennon is managing Partner of Smith, Currie & Hancock, LLP’s San Francisco office. He has over 30 years of experience as Counsel to the construction industry. His services include contract drafting and review, work-outs, mediations, arbitrations, and lawsuits involving license and discipline issues, etc. Dan frequently serves as arbitrator and mediator for the courts of San Francisco and Marin County and is a frequent author and speaker. He is active in numerous trade associations.
    Brian McLeran
    McLeran Roofing
    Brian has owned and operated McLeran Roofing Company for over 40 years. His father, Charles E. McLeran adopted the motto, “Dependable Roofing Service” when he established McLeran Roofing in Larkspur in 1929. Charles’ simple motto has been the guiding principle of the company since its early days. Brian learned the trade from his father and took over daily operation in 1978. McLeran Roofing has grown over the years under Brian's leadership,but the core belief in quality workmanship, product knowledge and customer service remains a company tradition. McLeran Roofing is a charter member of the Marin Builders Exchange.

    Brian worked with the Marin Builders Association and Marin Sanitary Service to establish the Roof to Roads recycling program for roofing materials.
    Clare Michael

    Clare has been a member of Marin Builders since 2017 and she currently co-chairs our Building Women Group. With over 23 years of design and project management experience for kitchen and bath remodeling, Clare creates tasteful, comfortable interiors with a specialization of open, natural, and functional kitchens and bathrooms.

    "How my clients and business is served has much to do with nine years working in village development with the Institute of Cultural Affairs on three continents with my family in tow. The mosaic of cultural images, tribal habits, religious traditions became embedded in my personal journey opening the door to thinking more inclusively", says Clare.
    "These impactful experiences provided curiosity about, “what’s out there? “and “what’s next?”. A great tool to remedy “construction exhaustion”.
    Ronnie Neuerburg
    Cal-West Rentals, Inc.
    Ronnie Neuerburg is an Account Manager at Cal West Rentals who works with contractors to source heavy equipment and small tools to get their job done as safely and efficiently as possible. He believes in underselling and exceeding expectations. His goal is to create long term healthy relationships with customers who he can one day call friends.

    Ronnie has served the equipment rental industry most of his life. When not working in the construction industry, he has worked on the sidelines of the former Oakland Raiders, as an equipment assistant manager. Ronnie has also served on the Board of Directors for the Rohnert Park Chamber of Commerce and has volunteered as a Cardinal Newman High Baseball Coach, Rohnert Park Girls Softball Association Coach and Umpire. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his amazing girlfriend and his two awesome teenage daughters.
    Kim Pace
    Fresh Coat Painters Serving Marin
    Kim Pace graduated from University of California, Davis in Environmental Design and has always had a passion for architecture, design, creating community, hospitality and sustainability. Kim led global Marketing and Client Service Teams for Fortune 100 Clients and start-ups for several years but found her niche while developing private real estate and a restaurant in Mexico. She launched Fresh Coat Painters Marin in 2020 and is ranked within the Top 25 of over 100 Fresh Coat locations in the United States. Kim created 'Doors of Hope' to offer painting front doors and donating a portion to local Marin charities. She served as a Board Member for Family Works for five years, volunteers for Big Brother Big Sister of North Bay and is a member of BNI Network 54. 
    John Pope

    John ended up working in the family glass and window business 10+ years ago on a whim, after spending 5 years at Charles Schwab & Co, Inc. in Retail and then International Finance. As CFO he handles all estimating and sales.

    Old Town Glass offers expert advice, whether you are an architect, contractor, homeowner, or designer. They frequently work with clients on the design, specification, and installation. Their expertise includes AAMA Installation Master’s Trained Installers. Old Town Glass is a licensed C-17 Glazing Contractor, offering both domestic and European glass window and door systems.

    John's diverse experience from working in Community Development for the City of Novato while in high school, software development at Autodesk and international financial services at Schwab, lends a unique skill set that applies well to the construction industry.
    Seth Shorett
    River City Bank
    VP - Sr., Portfolio Manager
    Seth Shorett is a commercial banker with River City Bank, a regional business bank with their North Bay Headquarters in Petaluma.  He specializes in financing companies in the building trades, as well as commercial real estate lending.  In addition to his work with the Marin Builders Association, Seth also serves as Director for both North Marin Community Services and the Novato Chamber.  He lives in Novato with his wife, a Special Education Teacher, and his two young children.  When Seth gets a free moment, you’ll find him camping, hiking, off-roading, or working on his truck.
    Joshua Townsend

    Joshua Townsend brings nearly two decades of public and private experience in leading specialized teams to engage communities to find success. His diverse expertise includes strategic outreach, marketing, governmental affairs, and crisis communication. He has trained and mentored staffs that are innovative in driving messages as well as its problem-solving ability. He has cultivated relationships through partnerships with non-profit organizations, government and corporate clients while serving on a number of business organizations Board of Directors.
    Cole Trahan
    Ghilotti Bros., Inc.
    Project Engineer
    Born and raised in Novato, Cole is a lifelong resident of Marin County. After studying Agribusiness at Cal Poly SLO, he briefly worked in vineyard management in Napa Valley, before making the transition to construction. As a Project Engineer for Ghilotti Bros., he helps facilitate the safety, quality, and timely delivery of heavy civil construction projects. When he’s not in the office, Cole likes to spend his time fishing, hiking, and playing golf.
    Rob Walker
    UpCycle Builders, Inc.
    Rob Walker, founder of UpCycle Builders, Inc., is a fourth generation San Francisco builder. Rob worked for several years as a carpenter for a high-end contractor in San Francisco before founding UpCycle Builders, Inc.. A graduate with honors in Finance and Statistics from the University of Southern California, Rob worked as an equity trader for a large investment bank, and later in investor relations. Prior to USC, Rob attended San Francisco University High School.
