About
With over 30 years of professional experience, Laurie Friedman, AIA LEED AP founded Earthlight Dwellings in 2009 with a vision of creating sustainable modern architecture integrating the latest design and construction technology combined with timeless techniques used for centuries to produce energy efficient homes.
Laurie is dedicated to refining green design; however, she also draws from her background in fine arts to create buildings that also exhibit artistic flair. Her past work includes original custom home designs on both east and west coasts of the U.S. and in Mexico. Her focus on socially responsible architecture led her to work on projects that include a group home for recovering adolescents and a large scale multiple family affordable housing project in South Central Los Angeles. She and her work have also been featured on HGTV's ''Curb Appeal,” on the 2012 Dwell Magazine Marin Home Tour, and in AIA San Francisco’s 2012 and 2016 “Small Firms, Great Projects” publications.
Laurie’s Sleepy Hollow Sustainable in San Anselmo is one of Marin County's first LEED Gold certified custom homes.
Our office is completely automated, using the newest version of Revit, the state-of-the-art CADD software. We also have the latest version of Autocad, enabling us to collaborate with consultants and others on the design team who utilize this widely used software.
