Assistant Testing Technician

Bauman Redi-Mix Concrete/Bauman Landscape is looking for a reliable assistant testing technician to assist in providing quality assurance testing on materials used in the construction of State & Federally funded contracts. Position primarily responsible for sampling & testing of bituminous concrete (hot mix), but in addition testing of Portland cement concrete, soil & aggregate, & in place materials at jobsites throughout the state for conformance to construction plans & specifications. Math is used daily, strong math skills required. The incumbent in this position may be required to lift up to 50lbs. & work in inclement weather.  

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Observe safe work practices at all times 
• Follow quality control guidelines and industry approved testing and preparation standards 
• Record and organize information from a variety of sources accurately 
• Communicate effectively with all members of the mix design team. 
• Obtain state D.O.T., county, city, etc. materials and testing standards in a timely manner 
• Collect samples from existing roads, quarries, and plant locations for evaluation 
• Use a variety of heavy-duty saws and drills to effectively prepare road samples 
• Prepare and test specimens according to industry standards and specifications 
• Evaluate and analyze test results and take corrective action when needed 
• Assist in general maintenance and calibration of all laboratory and road equipment 
• Maintain good housekeeping practices 
• Ability to lift 50 pounds 
• Calculations and data reduction of test results and other company attendance policy to ensure operate at normal proficiency level 
• Follow all safety policies and PPE use
