    John Busick
    President
    Bob Kunst Painting, Inc.
    John Busick is the Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Bob Kunst Painting Inc., a premiere residential and small-commercial painting company headquartered in San Rafael. John oversees all corporate communications, community outreach, financial systems, and sales processes. John serves on the Board of Directors of The Down Syndrome Association North Bay (DSANB). He is also professionally involved with other organizations.

    Clayton Fraser is the Chief Estimator for Thompson Builders Corporation and is responsible for overseeing the preparation of all estimates from hard bid to conceptual design estimates through the writing of subcontracts for projects that are awarded. Recently, Clayton led the efforts in completing the 40 million dollar Happy Hollow Zoo project in San Jose, which became the first amusement park and zoo to be awarded LEED® Gold Certification.

    Rick is responsible for the strategic leadership of the Marin Builders Association. He manages all business planning, program development and financial operations. Rick specializes in building organizational structure, policy and advocacy. Rick has served as President and CEO of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce and President of the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce. He serves on several local volunteer Boards.     Tom Barr

    With over 25 years of construction and estimating experience, Tom has been Vice President of Estimating with Ghilotti Bros., Inc. since 2006. Tom is responsible for overseeing the preparation of all estimates from takeoff and conceptual estimates through the finalization of the projects being awarded. He has been a Registered Professional Engineer since 1992 and was the President of the Association of Engineering Construction Employers in 2010.

    Kim is the Municipal Contracts & Communications Manager at Marin Sanitary Service. She is responsible for: contract compliance, program development, permitting, internal and external communications, customer and public relations, supervision of education and outreach staff. For the past 5 years, Kim has worked at MSS with jurisdictions on zero waste program planning and implementation and oversight of the residential and commercial recycling and organics education and outreach programs. She has experience with service work in El Salvador, volunteering in her children's schools, and participates in many community events and committees.

    Daniel F. McLennon is managing Partner of Smith, Currie & Hancock, LLP’s San Francisco office. He has over 30 years of experience as Counsel to the construction industry. His services include contract drafting and review, work-outs, mediations, arbitrations, and lawsuits involving license and discipline issues, etc. Dan frequently serves as arbitrator and mediator for the courts of San Francisco and Marin County and is a frequent author and speaker. He is active in numerous trade associations.

    Mary joined the Board in 2017. Mary has worked at Contractors State License Schools for 23 years in all capacities helping students further their construction careers. Her many professional accomplishments include Presidents Club Member at CSLS for the past 20 years, Certified RRP, Mentor of the Year Award, and Student Counselor of the Year. Mary volunteers for Contractors Caring for Kids, and American Cancer Society Race for the Cure. Mary attended Diablo Valley College where she studied business.

    Mary's first love is her family. She has been married to her best friend, Ken for 31 years. They are parents to two wonderful adult children- son Adam and daughter Ashley who just had a daughter, Amelia Rose. She is the their first grand baby and the apple of their eye!

    Mendy supervises all daily business operations including overseeing managers and administrative staff. She ensures the timeliness and efficiency of all business decisions and helps the company achieve its mission statement of always putting customers first and providing excellent service. Mendy strongly believes and emulates the philosophy of giving back to her community. She supports and participates in fundraisers for many local organizations.

    Oliver has over 30 years in the building trades in roles from Apprentice to Project Executive. With early experience in his family's contracting business, he has been associated with a number of high profile projects throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Oliver has been a licensed general contractor since 1980, member of the Marin Builders Association since 1986 and is a past President of the Board of Directors (2003).
    Tyler Doherty
    Cal-West Rentals, Inc.
    Tyler Doherty has served on the Marin Builders Association board since 2008 and was Board President in 2016. Tyler is the co-owner of Cal-West Rentals, Inc., based in Petaluma, which is a family-owned and operated, full service equipment rental company. They serve contractors, homeowners, and ranchers all over the North Bay Area. They also have a party division able to serve the rental needs of the event industry. Tyler has been part of the management team at Cal-West since August of 2007.

    Professional Duties: As an Assistant Sales Manager, Joe is responsible for meeting sales goals and objectives both in revenue and profitability. The position requires a high level of product knowledge and professional selling skills. We aim to build long-term relationships with our customers and understand their business in an effort to mold our service and products to their needs. Joe has been in the building materials industry for over 30 years.

    Diane Henderson

    Diane Henderson is the principal of DMH Land Use Planning. Over the course of her 30-year career Diane has helped guide land use projects for both public and private interests throughout California. She currently serves as the Interim Director of Planning for the Town of San Anselmo and has previously provided interim planning services to local cities including Novato, San Rafael, Larkspur, Tiburon, Mill Valley and Sausalito along with other Bay Area communities.
    Sean Kelly

    Sean Kelly is the owner of Lamperti Contracting and Design.  Lamperti has been in Marin since 1965. Sean was first involved with Lamperti as a sub contractor and then took over ownership in 2005.  Lamperti is very well known as a high end Kitchen and Bath remodeling company and Sean works very hard to maintain that reputation.  He has been in the construction business in Marin since starting his first company, Elite Builders in 1990.  He is actively involved in every aspect of the business. Sean Kelly is excited to be a part of the board so that he can provide needed services to other builders in this community.
     
    Brian McLeran

    Brian has owned and operated McLeran Roofing Company for over 40 years. His father, Charles E. McLeran adopted the motto, “Dependable Roofing Service” when he established McLeran Roofing in Larkspur in 1929. Charles’ simple motto has been the guiding principle of the company since its early days. Brian learned the trade from his father and took over daily operation in 1978. McLeran Roofing has grown over the years under Brian's leadership,but the core belief in quality workmanship, product knowledge and customer service remains a company tradition. McLeran Roofing is a charter member of the Marin Builders Exchange.

    Brian worked with the Marin Builders Association and Marin Sanitary Service to establish the Roof to Roads recycling program for roofing materials.
     
    Linda Palermo

    President
    Linda joined the Board of Directors in 2017. She has over 20 years of selling, leadership and training experience, Linda is a passionate, experienced leader who loves to work with people to help them dramatically improve their results.

    Prior to Sandler Training, Linda was the Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer for Commune Hotels and Resorts, overseeing sales, marketing, PR and revenue management for over 40 hotels, spas and restaurants. Her experience also includes digital marketing and technology organizations with teams up to 100 people. Linda is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

    Linda grew up in the Philippines, loves travel, dogs, puzzles and the beach. She is an occasional musician and is a mom, sister, aunt and great aunt. She lives in San Rafael.

    John ended up working in the family glass and window business 10+ years ago on a whim, after spending 5 years at Charles Schwab & Co, Inc. in Retail and then International Finance. As CFO he handles all estimating and sales.

    Old Town Glass offers expert advice, whether you are an architect, contractor, homeowner, or designer. They frequently work with clients on the design, specification, and installation. Their expertise includes AAMA Installation Master’s Trained Installers. Old Town Glass is a licensed C-17 Glazing Contractor, offering both domestic and European glass window and door systems.

    John's diverse experience from working in Community Development for the City of Novato while in high school, software development at Autodesk and international financial services at Schwab, lends a unique skill set that applies well to the construction industry.
    Dan Ross

    New to the Board of Directors in 2017-
    Dan is the owner/ president of Ross Painting where he is responsible for the administration and marketing of the company. He began painting in 1972 and founded Ross Painting in 1986. He has been a member of MBA since the late 1980s and an early member of North Bay NARI where he is presently co-president. Dan has been a member of Painting & Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) since 1986 and is currently on the national board of directors.

    As a great supporter of the schools, Dan has donated painting services to several over the years. His favorite charity is the Marin Food Bank.

    Dan graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese History. He married Dina Spadini in 1982. He has two beautiful daughters and one gorgeous granddaughter.
    Jim Schalich

    Jim was born and raised in Marin and graduated from Chico State University with a degree in Industrial Technology. He is the co-owner and Vice President of Schalich Bros. Construction, Inc. For over 30 years he has been building high end residential homes, and doing extensive residential and commercial remodeling in Marin and Sonoma Counties. He is highly thought of by those he is closely associated with in the community.

    Thomas Schmierer is the Sales Manager at Golden State Lumber Inc. and has held this role for 30 years. Tom's community involvement has consisted of coaching Marin Catholic basketball, coaching football and little league baseball.
    David Trahan

    Dave Trahan was born in Paris, France, son of a US Army officer. His family relocated to Marin County in 1966 and he has been a resident of Marin County ever since. Dave is a product of our local public schools, graduating from Sacramento State University. Dave, along with his brother Jeff Trahan, are the owners of Patriot Mechanical, Inc., a heating, air conditioning and sheet metal business. They have been in business together for over 25 years. Their business serves all of the San Francisco Bay Area. Dave has also served on the City of Novato Design Review Board. He is a past president of the Marin Builders Association, as well.
    Michelle Whiteside

    Whiteside Construction Corporation
    Michelle was born in San Francisco, moved to Novato and attended Novato High School. She is active with Helping Hands of Our Lady of Loretto Church in Novato, Marin Catholic High School and the Board of Directors of the Marin Builders Association. She and her husband Dave reside in Novato with their three children. She was founder and designer of Grazie Restaurant in Novato, and has enjoyed working as a mortgage broker and realtor for many years. Five years ago she was appointed Director of Operations at Whiteside Concrete Construction Corporation. Michelle has enjoyed working in construction with her husband who started the company over 25 years ago. The Marin Builders Association is an important part of their foundation in the community. Michelle is a strong believer in networking and always exemplifies a cooperative spirit.
