Rotary Day of Service - Protecting the Environment
Lend a hand at day of service: protecting the Environment Event
The environment needs our help, and we all have a chance to do our part in Rotary District 5150’s Day of Service: Protecting the Environment on Saturday, May 13. Much like last year’s inaugural event, the day is dedicated to environmental education and service at Children’s Island/Lagoon Park area at the Marin Civic Center.
The day begins with sign-in at 8:30am; and Rotarians and community members will do a hands-on clean-up and landscape projects led by Marin County Open Space volunteer coordinator Greg Reza in the morning at this Frank Lloyd Wright inspired location.
Starting at 11 a.m., exhibitors from environmental organizations and businesses will be on hand to inform people about their work; Ride and Drive Clean will bring EV vehicles and E-bikes to display with experts on hand to answer questions.
New this year— safe lithium-battery recycling and prescription eyeglass recycling will be available. People can simply drive by to drop-off batteries and eyeglasses and stay for hands on project and browse through the exhibits/booths and learn about EVs and E-bikes.
The event is open to the public. To encourage participation, activities are designed to be family-friendly, and anyone can attend. Those who register by Wednesday, May 10 will receive a ticket for a free lunch and a complimentary, reusable, insulated grocery bag (limited to first 150 registered). Walk-ins are welcome but will not receive lunch and grocery bags.

Sponsorships and spots for exhibitors are still available. If you or your business is interested in becoming a sponsor, or if you have a suggestion for an exhibitor, please contact Event Chair Sylvia Barry at sylvia@SylviaBarryRE.com
