REGISTER HEREJoin us for an exclusive tour of this new mixed-use development in San Francisco's Design District. What once was the San Francisco train depot at 801 Brannan Street has been transformed into the stunning 855 Brannan apartment complex. The train depot was built in 1906 and deconstructed in 2015, leaving behind beautiful old-growth structural Douglas Fir architectural timbers, which was salvaged and restored lending a sense of warmth and character to the extensive amenity spaces.
The 855 Brannan project brings 434 apartments and 15 commercial flex lofts to the developing neighborhood. Designed by David Baker Architects and developed by Equity Residential, the sustainable community is centered on a large courtyard with a serene redwood grove at its heart. Two landscaped public mid-block passages break up the large scale and create connections, while a transformed pedestrian frontage along Brannan Street offers widened sidewalks, mature palm trees, and 16,000 square feet of neighborhood-serving retail. Along Brannan Street, facades clad with weathering and galvanized steel reference the industrial history of the area.
