Little Lending Library Building Proposal 2020-2021

    Our Ask:

We are seeking donations to purchase and assemble 28 power tool kits. Currently, we have secured $6000.00 of our $12,000.00 goal. These kits will be lent to Junior students enrolled in the Marin School of Environmental Leadership (MarinSEL) Engineering Class so they can learn how to build over ZOOM at home from Ms. Allison Oropallo. All building will take place under the supervision of trained adult volunteers, who will be on site and socially distanced from the students.

We are hoping to secure funding by mid to late December so we can purchase and assemble the tool kits before the second semester of school begins. It should be noted that 24 of the 28 students enrolled in this class are girls. Girls that have taken Ms. Oropallo’s class in the past speak to the life changing experience they have had after having tools in their hands. Many of Miss Oropallo’s former students have gone on to be engineers, construction managers, and contractors.
