Subject to conditions described by the City of Pleasant Hill, responses to the prequalification documents for a general contractor are sought for the following project:

Prequalification of Prospective Bidders
The City has determined that general contractors who submit bids on this project must be
prequalified. Prequalified contractors will be required to have the following California contractor’s
license: B - GENERAL BUILDING CONTRACTOR
General Description of Work
The proposed new library will be approximately 24,000 gross square-foot single story building
located on a site of approximately 4.0 acre site of currently vacant land and include all site
improvements. The scope of work included, but is not limited to, the construction of a new structural
steel frame, Type II-B (unprotected non-combustible construction) building. The library construction
includes all relevant scopes of work; weather-tight exterior assemblies, roofing, metal-stud framing
and interior gypsum partitions, wood ceiling systems, and related electrical plumbing, HVAC and fire
protection systems, utilities/infrastructure and interior/exterior architectural finishes. The project will
also include miscellaneous site improvements including a shared parking lot, landscape, hardscape,
and bioretention areas tied to a new storm drainage system. Additional project information can

Cywinski Jackson, San Francisco, California.
The preliminary project schedule anticipates construction to begin in mid-May 2020 and be
completed by August 2021 and the current estimated construction cost for the project is
approximately $25.0 million.

Prospective contractors shall note that at the present time this project has NOT yet received final
approval from the Pleasant Hill Building Department, and the City reserves the right to stop the
project and reject any and all prequalification packages.
