Does your firm have short-term or long-term hiring needs for entry level employees?
If the answer is yes to either, please read on.

Marin Builders Association members have access to TWO new pools of entry-level candidates from TWO separate construction training programs, graduating very soon.

    OPTION 1:
Host an Intern from North Bay Construction Corps of Marin
Students from the 2021 North Bay Construction Corps (NBCC Marin) - Sponsored by the Mario Ghilotti Family Foundation are looking to secure two-week paid internships in early to mid-June with companies as they learn real world skills while working at your construction firm.

These students have spent 10 weeks learning about the building process, construction math, framing, concrete, electrical, plumbing, heavy equipment, and more. They have discussed what comprises a solid work ethic and have addressed important work-ready skills. They have practiced with a tape measure and have been introduced to basic safety protocols and requirements.

NBCC Marin has 4 remaining students who are at least 18 years old and are ready for a paid internship with your firm. They are prepared and ready to go to work. We ask that your company provide any specific tools or PPE required for the job. Your firm is expected to add these interns to your payroll as a temporary hire.  However, our hope is you will see these interns as a valuable addition to your team. Upon request and if you choose to hire your intern, NBCC will contribute $1,000 to help you offset any employment costs.

This is a win-win. Your firm can learn about a potential regular hire employee while the student is given the opportunity to experience the realities of construction and learn about your trade and your business for two weeks.

    OPTION 2:
Hire a Recent Training e2c Construction Academy Program Graduate
In addition to coordinating the North Bay Construction Corps (NBCC) above, we are actively coordinating programs to build a workforce pipeline through our collaborative efforts with community partners.  New graduates from the Education to Career (e2c) cohort coordinated by Canal Alliance and College of Marin are now ready for your review.
You have access to review the packet remaining resumes of the May 2021 program graduates from the most recent e2c cohort. To assist in your candidate screening, we have added their program certificate, their desired position, and hourly wage requirement in the packet that you can request from us.
These candidates have varying amounts of industry experience, some have first aid and CPR training, and a knowledge of construction math.  The candidates' experience and interest range from laborer to painter.  Their salary expectations range from $20 to $30 per hour.

The next e2c cohort will be graduating in late June.
If you are interested in more information about candidates from either of these programs, please email Caran Cuneo, our Workforce Development Coordinator.
