Earlier this month, Marin Builders Association President, John Pope (Old Town Glass) joined Dr. Celia Golden from Marin County Health and Human Services and Kaiser Permanente Health Educator Erendira J. Olivas on two construction site visits to help educate workers about the precutions necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Marin.

The first site was the Sir Francis Drake Infrastructure Project with Ghilotti Brothers and a residential project in Ross with a local General Contractor. During the site visits they met with both supervisors, workers, and subcontractors to discuss best practices to prevent exposure to and the spread of COVID19 in construction.  Visits were conducted in both English & Spanish.

Marin County HHS & Kaiser representatives observed the sites, including check-in practices, health screening on jobs, and check in procedures via QR codes / job logs. Representatives also shared education with construction workers on how to prevent COVID19 on the jobsite and while at home. Testing Information and resources Marin County is offering for those exposed to COVID-19 were also distributed to workers.

The feedback received the by the workers at sites we visited was very positive. The Marin Builders Association has been working with Marin County HHS to outreach to members and all construction related business in the County in order to encourage best practices, help employees remain healthy, and to keep jobsites safe and operational.
