• Marin Builders Association Awards Scholarships Totaling $20,000 to Sixteen Graduating High School Seniors

    The 2019 annual awards will be presented on Thursday, June 6th at the Scholarship Awards, Past Presidents & Honorary Members Reception hosted at The Club Restaurant, McInnis Park Golf Center in San Rafael.
     
    Scholarships were determined after an initial screening of applicants and interviews by an independent selection committee. The committee included Ken Lippi, Assistant Superintendent, Marin County Office of Education; Cynthia Murray, President and CEO of the North Bay Leadership Council; and Rob Devincenzi, President and Publisher, Marin Independent Journal.
     
    The scholarship winners are:
    $2,500 Sebastian Dow, San Marin High School
    $1,500 Julia Clark, Sir Francis Drake High School
    $1,500 Ryan Olson, Vintage High School
    $1,500 Sutter Portner, Redwood High School
    $1,500 Maya Rabow, Tamalpais High School
    $1,500 Mario Taurain, Cardinal Newman High School
    $1,500 Allison Wild, Rancho Cotate High School
    $1,000 Matthew Baetkey, San Marin High School
    $1,000 Morgan Conway, Sir Francis Drake High School
    $1,000  Cindy Escobar-Tecum, Terra Linda High School
    $1,000 Griffin Finnane, Sir Francis Drake High School
    $1,000 Jillian Hickey, Terra Linda High School
    $1,000 Kade O'Reilly, San Domenico School
    $1,000 Jackson Tyler, San Marin High School
        $750 Connor Barbato, Rancho Cotate High School
        $750 Burke Fraser, Sir Francis Drake High School
        
    Congratulations to all the winners! It is an honor and a pleasure to contribute to the success of these inspiring students.

    Since 1978 the association has awarded nearly $1 million in scholarships to local high school students who are pursuing a higher education at a college, university or trade school.
