    Job Description
    Sonoma-Marin Construction, a Sonoma County based General and Concrete Contractor, seeks an enthusiastic, experienced Estimator to join our team.  The Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate and timely proposals and estimates for residential and commercial projects, with a large emphasis on concrete related projects.  Sonoma-Marin Construction has been seeking out the right candidate for this position and will only consider candidates that have the experience that will fit the position that we are looking to fill, that have a strong work ethic and a track record of devotion and dedication with previous employment.  This position plays a key role for our company and we are looking to hire someone that is looking for long term employment and who will fit within the great team at our company.  Please only apply if you fit this description and if you are motivated, energetic and success driven.    


    RESPONSIBILITIES
     
    • Communicate with clients to review their projects as needed
    • Attend pre-bid meetings if required
    • Meet with clients to review job and job conditions as necessary
    • Thoroughly review plans and specifications so that accurate bidding can be completed
    • Solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
    • Complete accurate take-offs for labor, equipment and materials
    • Prepare complete accurate estimates and complete detailed proposals for clients
    • Submit detailed proposal to clients and follow up to assure clients are clear with the scope of work and the pricing for the work being proposed
    • Create contracts and subcontracts for all projects that are awarded to our company
    • Oversee projects from start to finish with field personnel and office staff
    • Meet periodically with Field Supervisor(s) to assist in scheduling, track job progress and address all issues that might arise
    • Ensure successful close out and completion of all managed projects
    • Build and enhance relationships with customers, sub-contractors and suppliers
     
    QUALIFICATIONS
     
    • Bachelor's degree or technical institute degree preferred, work experience will be considered
    • 3 to 5+ years construction and estimating experience, concrete estimating a plus
    • Computer estimating skills including Excel, Work and scheduling software a must
    • Construction field experience, preferred
    • Able to read, understand and interpret drawings and specifications
    • Able to manage multiple projects at one time
    • Self-directed with a high level of initiative
    • Able to successfully work within a team
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Committed to delivering outstanding customer service and quality work
    • Positive attitude
    • Possess a valid CA driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain all eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle
    • Able to traverse potentially rugged terrain
