    The Opportunity

    We have an immediate opening for a collaborative, driven and experienced individual to join our team as a full-time Construction Estimator.

    When the Estimator provides accurate and detailed estimates on time, he/she provides the foundation necessary to achieve a successful project. This role participates in all aspects of estimating new work during all phases of a project’s lifespan, and works closely with the company President to put together Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) budgets and detailed proposals for new opportunities.

    Responsibilities

    1. Work directly with the President and Project Managers to provide estimates for new opportunities and change orders. Both Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) budgets and detailed cost proposals.

    2. Obtain subcontractor and vendor quotes and other relevant documentation, vett/review, and appropriately file in Company Dropbox and include in budgets/proposals.

    3. Utilize company sales and estimating templates for document creation.

    4. Draft RFIs during bidding process and ensure adequate responses are received.

    5. Compose detailed scope of work for budgets/estimates.

    6. Compose detailed Gantt chart schedules to accompany budgets/proposals.

    7. Deliver budgets, estimates, schedules on time.

    8. Gain input from key players to understand requirements and potential risks (Subcontractors, Vendors, internal production team, etc.)

    9. Conduct site walks with key players as needed.

    10. Create final Client-facing proposal packages.

    Qualifications

    1. Must take our Hiring Assessment Test to be considered for an interview

    2. Past construction estimating experience required in renovation, with past projects estimated greater than $2 million each.

    3. Able to read construction plans.

    4. Excellent understanding of sequencing and critical path in construction projects.

    5. Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Dropbox in Apple computer environment.

    6. Experience with Basecamp, Project Wizards Merlin, and MS Project a plus.

    7. Comfortable using Apple computers.

    8. Experience with value-engineering projects/reviewing plans critically.

    9. Able to estimate several projects simultaneously.

    10. Driven and efficient -- ability to meet deadlines.

    11. High attention to detail – focused.

    12. Strong task management and task prioritization skills.

    13. Organized, methodical.

    14. Ability to communicate clearly and ask questions when needed.

    15. Ability to work independently.

    16. Excellent written skills.

    17. Strong sense of personal Accountability/Integrity.

    18. Existing contact list of preferred subcontractors and vendors a plus, but not required.

    19. Must be able to legally work in U.S.
