    Senior Staff Accountant needed for a growing construction firm in Downtown Novato, CA. We are a full-service public works contractor that provides construction services across California. Our goal is to provide completed projects for our clients with an emphasis on staying within time and monetary budgets. We are currently looking for someone to join our team that can provide us with the accounting support needed in order for our financial statements to be representative of the work being done.

    Job Description:
    Perform day-to-day accounting activities for construction projects, including tracking project costs, expenses, and revenues. Maintain project budgets and forecasts, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. Prepare and analyze financial reports, including project profitability analysis, budget variance analysis, and cash flow projections. Review and reconcile subcontractor and vendor invoices, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to contract terms. Prepare and monitor project billing and collections, resolving any billing discrepancies and ensuring timely payment. Project Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory local hire requirements by adhering to policies and procedures related to the recruitment, employment, and retention of local personnel within the designated Jurisdiction. Ensure overall project compliance and coordination with project requirements. Provide support to project teams and office staff by assisting with general needs and requests, fostering a productive and efficient work environment. Supervise payroll processing, verify payment to employees as well as compliance with all tax deposits/payroll related payments (garnishments, 401(k)), and prepare quarterly/annual government payroll reports as well as 1099s.

    Job Type: Full-time
    Salary: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
