This is the first class in a five-part series which provides a wholistic approach to high performance residential building. It is appropriate for homeowners and builders. While each session stands on its own, we encourage you to attend all or as many as possible. These trainings are organized by PG&E and offered in collaboration with County of Sonoma Energy and Sustainability Division and Sonoma Clean Power. Lunch will be provided for class participants. All sessions qualify for continuing education through AIA, BPI, and ICC.
Civil Engineer Bruce King will discuss how advanced wood framing can improve energy performance while carrying structural building loads with less material. In part two, he will describe other enclosure methods such as straw bale, hempcrete and earthen walls, which have all been employed on numerous buildings in California.
