VIRTUAL PROGRAM
Join the Center for Architecture + Design in collaboration with AIA San Francisco for this "Fresh Brew" segment that opens up what has become a nationwide discussion about architectural labor.
With last year's public announcement of Architectural Workers United, a group of architects at New York-based SHoP were the first to make the move to unionize. Put in context, public support for unions is at near record highs and “white-collar” workers are unionizing at higher rates every year. Ultimately, these efforts represent the beginnings of a burgeoning movement to galvanize all architects to commit to “making architecture more equitable, the profession more just, and the built environment more resilient”.
Don't miss this conversation featuring Andrew Daley, AIA, Associate Organizer with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) and Tyler Goss, Vice President and Global Digital Lead with AECOM Water. Moderated by Jess Myers, Assistant Professor at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and podcaster, writer, and editor focusing on urban planning and architecture.
